Why I Switched to Safer Skincare

Since having my children and doing my own research I have learned a lot about nutrition and how what goes into out bodies really affects the way we feel and our overall health…but what about what we put on our body? This is something I really never gave much thought about until I discovered Beautycounter and there mission. Also truthfully I did not want to part with all my makeup I used and loved. I was and still am a product Junkie. I just now know how to choose safer options- with Beautycounter it makes it so much easier and I LOVE every thing Beautycounter as there are options for my whole family. I started my safer skincare and beauty regimen in September of 2016 . It really is not only what we put in our bodies but also what we put on our body, as our skin is one of our biggest Organs. I am almost positive most of you ,like myself think we live in a highly regulated country, so products you are using surely have to be safe. Also I  really never even took into account the products I was putting on my skin until I discovered Beautycounter.

I was also surprised (which I should not have been) that Companies are allowed to use known Toxins, and ingredients that are linked to cancer, asthma, hormone disruption and reproductive issues-without even disclosing these harmful and toxic ingredients to us. Also furthermore it is legal for companies to lie and not disclose exactly what is in there products. When I found this bit of information out I was furious as I have been buying things that I thought because they said natural and organic that they were safe for me, and my family. Yes so very crazy!!!! There are companies working hard to create safer products for safer skincare and the beauty industry and to change it for the better.

I know the next question you are probably asking yourself is, do these products really work without all those toxic and harmful ingredients and my answer is absolutely . I have noticed more change in the eight months I have used Beautycounter products than I have with any other.

At Beautycounterwe’ve banned more than 1,500 ingredients setting a new health and safety standard— all while ensuring our products perform, and that they’re as indulgent as any luxe shampoo, lipstick or oil in the market. A good analogy is Whole Foods meets Chanel.  I didn’t only fall in love with Beautycounter because their products are safer and high performing, but I wanted to work with a company that is working towards real change. Beautycounter is dedicated to making changes on the legislative level and creating a safe skin care movement. They are taking action in Washington and working to reform the current laws, in hopes that other skin care companies will follow their strict safety guidelines. They also work very closely to support 3 non-profit organizations that are doing great work to reduce our amount of chemical exposure. Watch this short video to learn why I am so glad  to be a part of this amazing company that is making a change .
